Hi, I’m Laurel — and I believe in the power of transforming pain
into something meaningful. When I was seven, my world shifted
completely — my mom passed away from ovarian cancer. Four years
later I lost my dad to leukemia. Grief arrived early for me. For
most of my childhood and teenage years it felt like I was
navigating grief alone. There was no roadmap. I had no one who
truly understood what I was going through. At age 22, I founded
Camp Koah, a grief camp for kids and teens who had also lost a
parent or sibling.
For five summers we created space for connection, creativity, and
healing. Through art, play, and shared stories, these kids were
reminded that they weren’t alone — and neither was I. I’m also a
certified death doula, and through that work I’ve come to deeply
respect the sacredness of death and the complex emotions that come
with it. I don’t believe in rushing through grief or “fixing” it.
I believe in honoring it. Sitting with it. And slowly, gently,
finding joy and gratitude again — not in spite of the pain, but
because of how it shapes us. Now, nearing 30, I am a certified
grief coach combining my lived experience, training, and deep
empathy to support others on their unique grief journey. Whether
you’re in the thick of it or learning how to live alongside it,
I’m here to walk with you. I’m so glad you’re here. I can’t wait
to meet you.
